Paramedic Gary Liszewski was only 35 years old when he suffered a heart attack while on duty at Station 14 on January 22, 1987. Gary was a former paramedic training officer and had been with Broward Fire Rescue for 5 years. When Gary collapsed in a storage room at the fire station, his co-workers and friends rushed to provide medical care. Unfortunately, their attempts were futile as he died at Broward General Medical Center. Paramedic Liszewski was survived by his wife.
