Major Latresha President

Major Latresha President began her career at the Broward Sheriff's Office in August of 1997. During her tenure at the Broward Sheriff's Office, Major President gained experience in various areas, beginning at the Main Jail, where she worked all posts. In 2001, she transferred to the Central Intake Bureau, immersing herself in the responsibilities of each position within the unit. In December of 2001, she became a cross-certified deputy sheriff. Latresha President was the Training Coordinator for the Central Intake Unit when she was named Field Training Deputy of the year in 2009. She was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2011, and in 2013, she was then assigned to the Division of Internal Affairs. In 2016, Latresha President was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, working at the North Broward Facility and the Conte Facility. In 2019 she was appointed to Executive Officer of the Main Jail Bureau, Administration. In October 2021, she was promoted to Captain and served as Captain for the Central Intake Bureau. In January of 2025, she was promoted to Major serving the Department of Detention South Operations.
She graduated from Broward Community College in 2002 with an Associate's in Business Administration, later received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 2004, and her Master's Degree in Public Administration in 2012, both from Nova Southeastern University.
Major Latresha President is a Certified Instructor with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). She is a graduate of the 2011 Supervisor Leadership Academy and the 2015 Executive Leadership Academy. In March of 2021, she became a graduate of the National Jail Leadership Command Academy (NJLCA). In May of 2024, she graduated from the FDLE Senior Leadership Program (SLP). She also holds memberships from the American Jail Association (AJA), and the FBI- Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (LEEDA). Major President is also an FBI-LEEDA trilogy graduate.
