Major Kevin P. Corbett

Assistant Director of South Operations

Major Kevin Corbett began his career with the Broward Sheriff's Office, Department of Detention, in 2002 as a Help Desk Analyst assigned to the Bureau of Information Resource Management. In 2003, he completed the 2nd Corrections Academy with the Broward Sheriff's Office and became a certified detention deputy.

He was promoted to sergeant in 2010 and lieutenant in 2013.  After spending approximately five years in Internal Affairs, he became the captain for the Department of Professional Standards, Division of Policy and Accountability in 2019.  In 2021, he was promoted to major, overseeing several departments, including detention investigations, canine and gang units.

Major Corbett holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in Management Information Systems from Florida Atlantic University. He is a graduate of the FBI-Leeda Trilogy, the Executive Leadership Program with Nova Southeastern University and the Supervisory Leadership Academy. Major Corbett holds active membership with the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
