
Major Jenny McCook
Assistant Director of Mental Health
Major McCook began her career with the Department of Detention in 1997. In August of 1997, Major McCook was hired as a cadet in the 130th Corrections Academy with BSO. In the academy, she served as a squad leader. Major McCook completed the academy in December of 1997.
During her tenure as a detention deputy, she got promoted to Sergeant in January 2005. In August of 2016, Major McCook got promoted to the rank of lieutenant. In November of 2019, she received the promotion of Executive Officer in the Central Intake Bureau.
In 2014, Major McCook earned a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in health science, graduating Summa Cum Laude and Salutatorian at Keiser University. She is also an auditor with the Florida Corrections Accreditation Commission (FCAC). Major McCook has completed the National Jail Leaders Corrections Academy (NJLCA) at Sam Houston State College in Texas. She is also a member of the American Jail Association (AJA). She was promoted to captain in May 2021 and major in October 2021.
Today, she serves as the major of the Mental Health Unit.
