Major Brian Montgomery

Major Brian Montgomery began his career with the Broward Sheriff's Office in 1988 when he was assigned to road patrol in Unincorporated Hollywood, now the City of West Park. He has since held various roles, including assignments in the Strategic Investigations Division and Criminal Investigations, where he worked on property and violent crimes. In 1997, he was promoted to sergeant, overseeing road patrol and multiple criminal investigation units. He was promoted to lieutenant in 2001, with assignments in the Sheriff's Administration, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Cooper City, Deerfield Beach and Central Broward. In 2024, he became captain and was assigned to the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. In February 2026, he was promoted to the rank of Major in the Department of Law Enforcement.

Major Montgomery holds a master's degree in public administration from Florida Atlantic University. He also completed the Southern Police Institute Command Officers Course and Executive Leadership Course. Major Montgomery also graduated from Harvard Business School, having earned a certificate in Leadership and Management.
