Major Aimee Russo

Department of Administration

Major Aimee Russo serves in the Department of Administration, where she leads strategic initiatives and organizational development efforts that strengthen enterprise operations and long-term agency performance.

Throughout here career with the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Major Russo has advanced through operational and executive leadership roles across patrol, criminal investigations, counter-terrorism, special events, critical infrastructure operations, and regional command. She has overseen district patrol services, complex investigations, large-scale event security, and multi-unit commands serving diverse communities.

As Major, she oversaw Patrol Operations for BSO’s North Patrol Region before transitioning to the Department of Administration, where she now focuses on strategic alignment, modernization initiatives, and enterprise-wide performance improvement.

Major Russo holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Florida International University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University. She is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Public Leadership Credential Program, the Southern Police Institute Command Officers Development Course, the Police Executive Research Forum Senior Management Institute for Police, and the FBI Florida Executive Development Seminar. She also serves as an adjunct professor at Broward College’s Institute of Public Safety.
