
Lieutenant Richard Aronofsky
Executive Officer
Lieutenant Richard Aronofsky began his career with the Broward Sheriff’s Office in July 1997 as a cadet in the 129th Corrections Academy, where he earned the academic award for his academy class. As a deputy sheriff, he was assigned to the Main Jail. Since then, he has worked in the following units: Maximum Custody, Disciplinary Confinement, Administrative Segregation, Juvenile, Protective Custody, and Direct Supervision.
Lt. Aronofsky was cross-certified as a law enforcement officer in 2004. He was promoted to sergeant in July 2006. As a sergeant, he worked in Direct Supervision, Central Intake and the Main Jail.
He was promoted to lieutenant in October 2013. As a shift commander, his assignments include the Main Jail and the Joseph V. Conte Facility. He was assigned as the executive officer to the Joseph V. Conte Facility in April 2016. On September 01, 2017, he was assigned as the administrative executive officer to the Main Jail. Lt. Aronofsky currently serves as the executive officer of the Joseph V. Conte Facility.
Lt. Aronofsky holds an associate’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences., He also graduated from the 75th class of the Southern Police Institute’s Command Officer’s Development Course. He is enrolled in the FBI LEEDA Trilogy courses.
