Lieutenant  Colonel Elsie Judon began her career with the Broward Sheriff's Office, Department of Detention in October 1998 as a Corrections Technician assigned to the Main Jail. In 2000, she successfully completed the 144th Corrections Academy at Broward College and became a certified detention deputy.

She was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2005 and to lieutenant in March 2013.  In April 2014, she became the Executive Officer for the Department of Community Programs and was later promoted to Major of the Juvenile Assessment Center. In 2021, she was promoted to the rank Lietuenant Colonel.

Lt. Col. Judon holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Florida Atlantic University and a Master of Science degree in Forensic Psychology from Nova Southeastern University.  Lt. Col. Judon is a graduate of the National Jail Leadership Command Academy, class #15 at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. She holds active memberships with the American Probation and Parole Association and American Jail Association.  She is recognized by the American Jail Association as a Certified Jail Manager and a Life Member.  Lt. Col. Judon is also an Adjunct Instructor for Broward College Institute of Public Safety and is cross-certified as a law enforcement officer.
