Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide unit are investigating a fatal crash that killed a woman sleeping underneath the box trailer of a landscaping truck in Pompano Beach on Friday, Oct. 24.

The fatal incident took place at approximately 6:58 a.m. that Friday, near the 100 block of Northwest 15th Place. According to investigators, the victim was run over after crawling underneath a box trailer of a landscaping truck the night before.

Detectives say the driver, a landscaping employee, moved the truck from its parking space and subsequently ran over the victim. 

BSO deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded. Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased on scene.  

Excessive speed, mechanical malfunction, and driver impairment are not considered contributing factors in this fatal crash.
