Skip Evidence Intake Unit

The Evidence Intake Unit is responsible for receiving, tracking and maintaining the chain of custody for all evidence submitted to the Crime Laboratory. Processing over 10,000 cases annually, the unit ensures that each item of evidence is properly documented, securely stored and readily accessible for forensic analysis.

Technicians manage the laboratory's drug vault, which houses over 50 tons of controlled substances and provide exceptional service to law enforcement agencies throughout Broward County. Their meticulous handling of evidence supports the integrity of forensic testing and the judicial process.
