A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Chief Bouchillon joined Broward County Fire Rescue in 1994 and served county residents and visitors in every service area as he rose through the ranks as a Paramedic, Firefighter/Paramedic, Lieutenant, Captain and Battalion Chief. In 2007, Chief Bouchillon was promoted to the rank of District Chief and was assigned command of Fire Rescue services for the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport. In 2010, Chief Bouchillon was selected by the Weston City Manager, Mr. John R. Flint, to serve as the City’s top fire administrator and provided administrative and operational oversight of Weston’s three fire stations, consisting of four EMS rescue companies, three ALS engine companies, one ALS aerial company, a Fire Prevention Bureau and community fire and life safety prevention programs including the Weston Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Additionally, Chief Bouchillon served as the SWAT/Tactical Medic Coordinator for the Broward Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team from 2007 until 2013. In June 2016, Chief Bouchillon was promoted to Assistant Chief of Operations, where he provided administrative oversight of fire rescue field operations. He was named Deputy Chief in May 2023.
Chief Bouchillon is a graduate of both the Supervisor Leadership Academy and Executive Leadership Program and has completed the Emergency Services Leadership Institute Organizational Management Program administered by the Florida Fire Chiefs Association. Chief Bouchillon holds Associate degrees in Liberal Arts and Fire Science, both awarded with high honors. Chief Bouchillon graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire and Emergency Service Management.
A dedicated servant to the community, Chief Bouchillon is a Guardian ad Litem for the 17th Judicial Circuit Court and volunteers as a youth sports coach for the Miramar Police Athletic League and the City of Pembroke Pines.
