Colonel Timothy Irvin II

Colonel Timothy C. Irvin II began his law enforcement career in 1995 as a Detention Deputy with the Broward Sheriff's Office. Shortly after, he transferred to the Department of Law Enforcement, where he served as a road patrol deputy and SET detective in the West Park/Pembroke Park district before becoming a school resource deputy in Lauderhill. In 2007 he was promoted to sergeant and assigned first to the Pompano Beach District. In 2011, he was assigned to Internal Affairs. In 2013, he served as the Criminal Investigations and the Crime Suppression Unit supervisor in the West Park/Pembroke Park district. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2015, assigned to the Pompano Beach district, first as a Shift Lieutenant, and later as the Executive Officer for Area 2. In 2017, he was promoted to Captain and assigned to the Pompano Beach District. Throughout his time in Pompano Beach, he was instrumental in developing the district's CORE team, which successfully utilized a community policing approach to target street-level crimes and quality of life issues within the city. He was promoted to Major in March 2019, overseeing the County Critical Infrastructure, including the County's Crime Suppression Teams (CST), Burglary Suppression Team (BAT) unit, and the Special Detail unit. In 2023, he was promoted to Colonel, where he currently serves as Executive Director of the Department of Detention and Community Programs.

Colonel Timothy Irvin II is a recipient of the prestigious Charles Bingham Award for his 2002 response to a shooting at a local school where no children were injured. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville's Southern Police Institute 78th Command Officers Development Course, the Executive Leadership Program, the Florida Leadership Academy, the Supervisory Leadership Program, the Florida Sheriff's Commanders Academy, and the 279th session of the FBI's National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, in 2020. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration from Barry University and a Master's in Public Administration from Lynn University. He is a NOBLE South Florida Chapter member and a member of several other law enforcement organizations.
