Colonel Jeffrey Cirminiello

Colonel Jeff Cirminiello is a senior public-safety executive with nearly three decades of experience in law enforcement leadership, administration, and strategic governance. He serves as the Executive Director of the Department of Administration at the Broward Sheriff’s Office, where he oversees enterprise-level functions including strategic alignment, fiscal management, technology, and operational support services.
Colonel Cirminiello established and leads BSO's Office of Strategic Management, where he developed a centralized approach to performance accountability, strategic planning, and executive decision support. Through this office, he leads and implements high-level, agency-wide technology initiatives, ensuring that major systems, platforms, and digital investments align with operational needs, fiscal responsibility, and long-term organizational strategy.
He began his law enforcement career in 1996 and has served in progressively responsible command positions, including Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Major, Lieutenant Colonel and Colonel. Throughout his career, he has supported public-safety operations serving more than two million residents and has held oversight responsibility for complex, multi-jurisdictional service delivery models.
A central focus of Colonel Cirminiello’s work has been building trusted relationships with city and county management, elected officials, and executive stakeholders. He works closely with municipal leaders to navigate complex public-safety challenges, align organizational priorities, and ensure that major operational and technology decisions reflect broader community, fiscal, and governance considerations. His approach emphasizes credibility, candor, and consistency in executive communication.
Colonel Cirminiello holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership and a Master of Business Administration. He is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute’s Command Officers Development Program and has completed numerous advanced leadership and executive development programs. His professional philosophy centers on disciplined governance, clarity of roles, and proactive planning to strengthen organizational resilience and public trust.
