Bilingual Public Information Officer

Claudinne Caro joined the Broward Sheriff's Office in May 2021 as a bilingual public information officer. Claudinne joins the agency with more than ten years of experience as a bilingual news correspondent and producer working in network news at the local, national and international levels in English and Hispanic markets, including Telemundo 51, NBC6, Univision and CNN En Español.

A multiple Emmy Award-winning journalist, Claudinne has covered and produced major news stories that have impacted South Florida.  Her reporting highlights include the Elian Gonzalez case, the destructive 2004/2005 hurricane seasons that battered the state, presidential elections, crime investigations, investigative reports, health specials, network documentaries, politics and breaking news. She would often broadcast the same news story for two networks in two different languages only minutes apart.

Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, Claudinne has called the Sunshine State home most of her adult life. Claudinne holds a master’s degree in global strategic communications and a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Florida International University.
