Station 23 is the home of BSO's Hazardous Materials Team which operates a z-Mat ALS engine a special z-Mat truck. Units from this station respond county-wide to hazardous materials incidents. The annual population of this Unincorporated area is approximately 13,600, but the daytime population increases significantly due to the four major thoroughfares, several magnet schools and a variety of businesses. Residential neighborhoods located within the district include Broadview Park, Boulevard Gardens, Franklin Park, Washington Park, Roosevelt Gardens.
