Captain Sarah Langford began her career with the Broward Sheriff's Office in April 2001, where she was assigned to the Main Jail Bureau. During her tenure at the Main Jail, she worked in various units gaining diverse experience. In 2004, she became cross-certified as a Law Enforcement Officer, expanding her expertise. In 2006, Captain Langford took on the role of Main Jail Report Coordinator. Her leadership skills and continued dedication earned her a promotion to Sergeant in 2010. As Sergeant, she worked at several facilities, including the Joseph V. Conte facility, Juvenile Assessment Center, North Broward Bureau, and Main Jail Bureau.
In 2019, Captain Langford was assigned to the Department of Preparedness & Response - Training Division, where she worked as the Department of Detention Field Training Program Supervisor and then the In-Service Supervisor. In May 2022, she was promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to the Conte Facility and the Main Jail. In 2023, Sarah was named Executive Officer for the Main Jail Bureau, and In February 2025, she was promoted to Captain with the oversight of the Main Jail.
Throughout her career, Captain Langford received higher education and certifications. She earned her Associate of Science in Criminal Justice in 2003 and a Bachelor of Science in Management and Supervision in 2010 from Broward College. In 2013, she earned her Master's degree in Administration from Barry University. Captain Langford is also a certified member of the American Jail Association (AJA), Florida Sheriff's Association. She is also a graduate of the FBI-Leeda Trilogy.
