Captain Johanna Palacio-Harris

Captain Johanna Palacio-Harris began her career with the Broward Sheriff’s Office in August 2001. During her career at the Broward Sheriff’s Office, she has served in various facilities, including Main Jail, Conte, Stockade, North Broward Bureau and Central Intake.
Captain Palacio-Harris was promoted to sergeant in 2016. As a sergeant, she was assigned to the Central Intake Unit as the Release Desk and Transportation supervisor. She also worked as a supervisor in the Main Jail’s transitional, detox, and mental health units, providing care, custody and control for the inmates.
In 2020, she was promoted to lieutenant and assigned to the Central Intake Unit as a shift commander. In 2021, she transferred to the Division of Internal Affairs as the executive lieutenant. In April 2023, she was promoted to captain and is currently assigned to the Central Intake Bureau.
Captain Palacio-Harris holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Nova Southeastern University.
