Assistant Chief Heath Clark began his fire service career in 2006 with Deerfield Beach Fire Rescue and became a member of the Broward Sheriff’s Office Department of Fire Rescue and Emergency Services (BSODFRES) following the agency’s 2011 merger. He currently serves as the Assistant Chief of Administrative Services, overseeing critical support functions including Fleet, Facilities, and Logistics.
Throughout his career, Assistant Chief Clark has held several leadership positions, including Division Chief of EMS, Captain of Quality Management, Operations Captain, and Operations Lieutenant. His focus on innovation and continuous improvement has earned recognition across the region.
In 2024, he was honored as the Mike Murphy Innovator of the Year by the Fire Chiefs Association of Broward County for his forward-thinking contributions to fire service delivery and EMS.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Fire and Emergency Services, with a specialization in Emergency Medical Services Management, from the University of Florida and an Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Science from Broward College. He is a graduate of the Emergency Services Leadership Institute (ESLI) Organizational Management Program, administered by the Florida Fire Chiefs Association. Assistant Chief Clark is also a state-certified Firefighter, Paramedic, Fire Officer I, Fire Instructor II, Live Fire Training Instructor, and Level A and B EMS Instructor. He has served as an adjunct professor at Broward College, mentoring the next generation of fire service professionals.
Born and raised in Hollywood, Florida, Assistant Chief Clark brings both deep local roots and a strong commitment to public service to his leadership role within BSODFRES.
