Chief Fadil Ameerally began his career at the Lighthouse Point Fire Department in 2002. He joined Broward County Fire Rescue one year later. Chief Ameerally rose through the ranks as a firefighter/paramedic, driver engineer, lieutenant, captain and battalion chief. Additionally, he served as an officer on the Hazardous Materials team before being promoted to a Chief officer role. Next, he was promoted to division chief and was assigned to oversee all on-duty shift operations for Alpha Shift. Finally, in January 2022, Chief Ameerally was promoted to assistant chief. He currently overseesĀ all field operations, which is responsible for the direct delivery of fire suppression and medical services to the public. The Operations Services component also assures response apparatus are properly staffed at all times.
Chief Ameerally holds two associate's degrees, one in Fire Science and the other in Emergency Medical Services. He is currently finishing his bachelor's degree in Fire Administration. Chief Ameerally was also named the Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue Employee of the Year in 2019.
