Assistant Chief Benjamin Rudbeck

Chief Benjamin Rudbeck began his career with the City of Dania Beach in 1994 as a firefighter/paramedic. During his service with Dania Beach Fire Rescue, he held the ranks of lieutenant, captain, battalion chief, and division chief. Chief Rudbeck oversaw the Logistics/Training and Emergency Medical Services Divisions. In 2011, the City of Dania Beach contracted with the Broward Sheriff's Office to provide fire rescue services. 

After the merger, Chief Rudbeck worked as a battalion chief in all areas served by the Department of Fire Rescue and Emergency Services. In June 2016, Chief Rudbeck was assigned and eventually promoted to Assistant Chief of Operations.  He subsequently moved on to serve as the Assistant Chief of Management Services where he supervised eight district chiefs who collectively ensured that all areas served by the department remained properly staffed and equipped. 

Chief Rudbeck's current assignment is overseeing administrative services.  As Assistant Chief of Administrative Services, he is tasked with providing direction and administrative support to several fire rescue components including logistics, fleet, facilities, accreditation, and data analysis.

Chief Rudbeck holds two associate degrees, one in Fire Science and the other in Emergency Medical Services. He also holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a master's degree in Public Administration. Chief Rudbeck is a graduate of the Emergency Services Leadership Institute program and maintains his fire inspector and instructor certificates.
